Ireland's A Cappella Competition is open to modern a cappella ensembles, choirs, duos, and barbershop quartets...in fact, as long as you sing a cappella, you are welcome to join the party! The winners receive a day of recording at Windmill Lane Studios in Dublin, as well as the opportunity to sing at the Button Factory as part of ConTempo NOVA on August 27th!
Ireland's A Cappella Competition is kindly sponsored by Dublin Studio Hub. DSH online is a collaboration of professional and passionate musicians who have come together to record and produce great music.
The event takes place at the Lutheran Hall, Adelaide Road Dublin on August 24th 2016 at 7.30 PM.
We are delighted to welcome Ellen Cranitch, host of The Purple Vespertine on RTE Lyric FM as our compere for the evening. Ellen started her professional career as a freelance flautist with the National Symphony Orchestra, The RTÉ Concert Orchestra, and many other chamber orchestras and ensembles. In 1996 she was appointed composer-in-association with the Clare County Council and in 2004 she began presenting the flagship traditional music show, Grace Notes, on RTE Lyric FM, which is ongoing, and she has created and presented many radio documentaries for both Lyric and RTE Radio 1.
If you'd like to enter the competition you can send a recording (preferably video) to email@example.com along with a short biog so we can share it with our followers! Closing date for entries is August 1st 2016.
